M45 The Pleiades Nebula
M45 The Pleiades Nebula. For years I've seen photos of the misty blue haze that surrounds the bright starts of the Pleiades, but have never been able to capture it in the light polluted urban skies of Edmonds, WA. A trip to Lake Chelan in September 2010 changed that, as I finally have a photo that shows the nebulosity. Taken with a Canon XSi with a 55-250mm zoom lens piggybacked on a Celestron NextStar 11 GPS. A stack of 8 5-minute exposures stacked with DeepSkyStacker.
